For years evolutionists have been saying that man evolved from monkeys and monkeys evolved from lesser creatures that trace their ancestry back millions of years to a one celled organism. Yes, they would like you to believe that you are an accident of nature, a product of chance, just a highly-developed animal.
Is that theory really true? Did man evolve? Ponder the following questions. If evolution is true . . .
- Why are there no “links” or half-developed creatures alive today? Men call them “missing links” because they are just that – missing.
- Why have no “missing links” been found in the fossil record? Fossils of extinct creatures have been found, and fossils of living creatures, big and small, have been found, but none that were half-developed.
- Why is crossbreeding of different kinds of creatures genetically impossible? No amount of time will enable a cat and a cow to crossbreed.
- Why does the Second Law of Thermodynamics teach that everything is going from order to disorder, but evolution claims the opposite?
- Why do mutations (minor changes within a kind) always lose DNA information and never add new information as evolution requires?
Is There a Better Explanation?
Intelligent design requires an intelligent designer. No car owner is foolish enough to think that his car evolved from natural resources by chance. A designer drew intricate blueprints. Craftsmen followed the blueprints to make the parts. Factory workers assembled the parts. No car has ever evolved from an explosion or accident. No living creature or element in nature could evolve that way either.
Many scientists and thinking people believe that man was created by the Intelligent Designer God as the Bible says rather than evolving through impossible accidents. Before you reject the Bible as religious propaganda, you owe it to yourself to examine what it says, particularly its account of the origin of man and man’s accountability to his Designer and Creator.
The Bible begins with the words “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) If you think that’s crazy, okay, look at what you have been taught. Twenty billion years ago NOTHING exploded and formed everything.
The Bible tells us, “And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.” (Genesis 1:20) God thoughtfully created each kind of the sea creature and bird. Evolution teaches that rain fell on the rocks for millions of years and formed an organic soup. Out of that nonliving organic soup the first organism came to life and in time evolved into every kind of fish in the sea.
Again the Bible records, “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.” (Genesis 1:24) God made each unique animal and gave each the ability to reproduce after his kind. Evolutionists claim that sea creatures developed legs and lungs to live on land and then evolved into all the kinds of land creatures and eventually into all kinds of birds.
The Bible tells us that on the sixth day of Creation, God made humans. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis 1:27) God created us after His image not after the image of a monkey. Evolutionists claim that over millions of years monkeys evolved into intelligent humans.
Where Did God Come From?
You may be thinking, if God created all things, where did God come from? The Bible says that God has always existed. We believe this by faith. Faith is acting on trusted information. Evolution is also believed by faith. The evolutionist has faith in a theory that cannot be tested or reproduced in a laboratory. Evidence of Intelligent Design is abundant everywhere you look in nature. We cannot prove God exists and that He created all things, but evidence strongly favours the Bible.
Useless or Loved?
If all things evolved from lesser things, then you are nothing but the result of an accident of nature. If God created you a unique, intelligent human being capable of fellowship with Him, then you are very special. God loves you! He wants you to find joy in fellowshipping with Him now and for all eternity.
The Bible says that God created you and that you are accountable to Him. God is holy and has never sinned, but every human has sinned and displeased God. Your sin blocks God’s desired fellowship with you. However, because God loves you He sent His Son Jesus to earth to die to pay for your sin and open the door to fellowship with God. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
You ARE More than a Monkey!
You are a special creation of God. God would like to forgive your sin and change your life so you could please Him and fellowship with Him. Will you let him? Here is what God says you must do.
In your heart, admit that you are a sinner deserving of hell. Then turn from your sinful lifestyle. Be willing to let God change your life and give you a new life that will please him. God said, “. . . except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3)
Believe that Jesus is God and that in love he died to pay for the punishment your sin deserves. Believe “. . . that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) Admit that you could never earn God’s forgiveness and eternal life. The Bible puts it this way, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
Tell God the above two things and ask Him to forgive your sin, apply His payment to your account, and give you eternal life. He promises, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
