Are You 100% Positive You Are Going To Heaven?

You may hope you are going to heaven, or you may think that since you are a good person God will let you in, but are you 100% positive? If you think it is impossible to be 100% positive you will go to heaven, consider what the Bible says.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life. . .” ► 1 John 5:13

“To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,” ► 1 Peter 1:4

In these Bible verses, God promises that you can know that you have eternal life and a wonderful inheritance reserved in heaven. You do not need to hope you are going to heaven. You can know for positive.

God wants you to spend eternity with Him in heaven, and He explains the way to heaven in the Bible. Like a navigation system (GPS) in your car, the Bible identifies where you are and then shows you God’s way to heaven. According to the Bible, right now you are lost and heading the wrong direction because of your sin. It is not good to be lost, especially spiritually lost. God said…

“For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.” ► Ecclesiastes 7:20

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” ►Romans 3:23

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” ► 1 John 1:8

Sin is a very serious problem. Because God is holy, He cannot let any sin into heaven. He must punish all who sin, whether they are bad sinners or just liars. He said …

“For the wages of sin is death. . .” ► Romans 6:23

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable [really bad], and murderers, and whoremongers [sexually immoral], and sorcerers [occultists], and idolaters [idol worshippers], and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” ► Revelation 21:8

You cannot fix your sin problem nor get on the road to heaven yourself. Being good does not erase past sins. Being religious cannot forgive your sin. The Bible says …

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…” ► Isaiah 64:6

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us…” ► Titus 3:5

Like a GPS, the Bible points you in the right direction. Jesus, God the Son, came to this earth just over 2000 years ago to pay for your sin and make you a way to heaven.

“For the Son of man [Jesus] is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” ► Luke 19:10

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” ► Romans 5:8

“… Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” ►1 Corinthians 15:3-4

The Bible is better than any GPS. It will never lead you astray. Trust the Bible. Here is the next direction it gives you.

“. . . repent ye, and believe the gospel.” ► Mark 1:15

First, God says you must repent. To repent means to change your mind about your goodness and your hopes of earning your way to heaven. Agree with God that you are a lost sinner and heading for hell instead of heaven. God says …

“… except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” ► Luke 13:3

“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out…” ► Acts 3:19

Second, you must believe the gospel. The gospel is the good news that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again to pay for your sin and to offer you eternal life in heaven. God said …

[Jesus] was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” ► Romans 4:25

“And he is the propitiation [payment in full] for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins ofthe whole world.” ► 1 John 2:2

Believing the gospel is more than admitting it is true. It is placing your faith in Jesus to save you from hell and lead you to heaven. When you believe a GPS, you place your faith in that machine to direct your way. When you believe the gospel, you place your faith in God to direct you to heaven.  Once again the Bible says …

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” ► John 14:6

“… Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved …” ►Acts 16:31

“But as many as received him [Jesus], to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” ► John 1:12

With a GPS, you must believe or reject what it says. You cannot do both. With the gospel, you cannot partly believe on Jesus and partly trust your good deeds. You must place your faith in the fact that Jesus fully paid for your eternal hell and now offers you an eternal home in heaven. If you do not do this, you will miss heaven. The Bible says …

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” ► John 3:36

A GPS can give you a map and tell you the direction to take, but you must choose to follow it. The same is true about God’s directions to heaven. If you truly repent and believe that Christ paid for your sin in full, then ask God to save your soul and give you eternal life in heaven. God says …

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”  ► Romans 10:10, 13

If God has showed you your need, receive Him now! Call on the name of the Lord to forgive your sins, save your soul, and give you a home in heaven. Simply ask Him like this:

God, I know I am a lost sinner and I deserve to go to hell. I cannot save myself. My good deeds cannot save me. I believe that Jesus is God and that He loves me. I believe that He died and rose again to pay for all my sins. I ask you now to forgive my sins, change my life, save my soul, and give me eternal life in heaven as you said you would. Thank you!
