Righteousness Imputed by Faith – Romans 4:1-8

Romans chapter 4 opens up for us the blessing of having the righteousness of Christ imputed to our account, by faith and without works.
The Apostle Paul gives us the examples of Abraham and David as Old Testament examples of men who were justified by faith.
When the principles in these two accounts are applied to the New Testament Christian we find that, like a man drowning in a rip tide can only reach out to the lifeguard, trusting the lifeguard to rescue him, the sinner can only hold out the arms of faith and receive the gift of salvation, trusting Christ to save him.
