Sadly, many people hate life. They are miserable and unhappy. That is not what God wants. God assures us that if we desire to love life and see good days, we can. Those who obey God can love life and see good days. The thing that makes life unhappy is sin. We cannot always control the sins others do to us, but with God’s help, we can control how we react to those sins. By reacting properly, we can truly love life and see good days. Peter has been teaching us about relationships. First, he showed us God’s requirements for submission in our relationships. Then in verses 8-9, he identified attitudes that will lubricate our relationships. Today in
verses 10-12, Peter tells us how we can love life (or enjoy life) within those relationships.

Transition

In these verses, the Holy Spirit guided Peter to tell us two things: 1) What we must do if we want to love life, and then, 2) Why we must do it if we want to love life.
