This evening we are going to look at perhaps the most well known story in the whole Bible – David and Goliath. However, I do not want us to focus just on the thrilling story, but rather on the principles found in it. Just as David faced a huge giant, we face many huge giants […]
When a child talks back to his parent, or a boy calls his dad “the old man”, or a person refers to police officer as a “pig”, or Christians have “roast preacher” for Sunday lunch, or citizens make degrading jokes about a government leader, or when people call God as “the big man upstairs”, in […]
Read our text. Last week we studied about David’s anointing as a youth. It seems that he was about 15 years old at that time. A few years had passed since that event. David was now a skilled harpist. He practiced for hours as he tended the sheep in the field. As David drew closer […]
If you are a Christian, people are watching your life. Some are watching for an excuse to speak against your faith in Christ. Others may even test your sincerity. This is yet another reason to have a flourishing relationship with the Lord and to live godly. Think for a moment about a sponge filled with […]
King Saul, the first king of Israel, disobeyed God during his second year as king (1 Sa 13:1, 13-14). At that time, God chose him a man after His own heart – a man who was not yet born. During the remaining 38 years of his reign, Saul displeased God. In about his 25th year […]
In the Old Testament, a priest had two main duties. They presented the people’s sacrifices to God (Heb 8:3), and passed on God’s instruction to the people (Mal 2:7). Be sure your conduct is honourable physically, socially, and spiritually. Then be sure you are prepared with God’s power, with Scriptures in […]
God has marvellously created living cells so they will multiply and divide to produce growth. God’s plan for growth is amazingly wonderful. In a similar way, God has also planned for our spiritual growth. God does not want us to remain spiritual babies. He wants us to develop and advance spiritually. Transition In our text […]
Whether you are taking an exam, giving a speech, hosting a party, playing in a sporting event, teaching a lesson, or witnessing for the Lord, preparation is a major key to success. Preparation often makes the difference between failure and success. Last week we talked about the messenger and how as a witness for Christ, […]

Love is thoughtfulness—for other’s woes. Love is promptness—when stern duty calls. Love is courage—when misfortune falls. – Source unknown Read 1 Peter 1:22. In this verse, the first […]
